Starches are the base of any great or even good meal. Potatoes, noodles, rice, barley or what-have-you. For a meal to be filling you need at least one healthy helping. Rice is popular with the kids at my house. But, the wife hates it because it seems to go everywhere. And Spaghetti! Well, it's great until the sauce gets whipped around a child's face and somehow manages to reach the ceiling.
