Texas Cinnamon Pecan Strudel
This recipe is published by permission from Sandra Lee's Semi-Homemade Desserts. It has got to be the easiest, and tastiest pecan strudel recipe I have run across. Sandra Lee's recipes are all of this type, elegant and easy at the same time. You will impress family and guests with minimal effort. Your friends will think you have been slaving away in the kitchen for hours, and you will have had help from behind the scenes from Sandra Lee!
Ingredients:
1 package (18-ounce) frozen unbaked cinnamon rolls, thawed, Rich's
3 tablespoons honey, Sue Bee
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, McCormick
Prep time: 10 minutes
Baking time: 20 minutes
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Gather cinnamon rolls into one ball.
Knead dough in bowl until smooth.
Roll out dough on lightly floured work survace to 12X7 inch rectangle.
Brush dough with 3 tablespoons honey.
Sprinkle dough with pecans and walnuts.
Gently press nuts into dough.
Roll up dough as for jelly roll.
Place dough seamside down on prepared cookie sheet.
Bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Cut strudel crosswise into diagonal slices.
Drizzle with additional honey and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Serve warm.
