Being a particular fan of holidays W.J. Rayment decided that the time was right for a website on holiday cooking. Having already written the The Real Man's Cookbook he had experience in the food-writing genre. But he felt that the holiday theme needed a twist. Themed menus based on fiction had not been done before and so Holiday Cook began moving in that direction. Yet there were other items that suddenly seemed important on holidays. This included manners, cookware, and tableware. He eventually decided on another website to address the whole napkin folding issue.
